The following list is composed of individuals who are making extraordinary changes in this world by improving the lives of others.  This is just a tiny list of those out there making a difference, but is meant to inspire all of us "regular folk" to aspire to something greater!  Please submit those that deserve to be on it.

Greg Mortenson - Greg Mortenson is the founder of Central Asia Institute , co-author of Three Cups of Tea (the book is based on him and his forming of the Central Asia Institute), and author of Stones into Schools.  His tremendous efforts to educate children (mostly girls) in Afghanistan and Pakistan are doing so much to improve the lives of those in that region of the world, and prevent future terrorists from harming those in this region of the world.  Education

Geoff Tabin - I first read about Geoff Tabin in the November issue of National Geographic Adventure.  Geoff is co-founder of  CureBlindness.org with Dr. Sanduk Ruit.  Their goal is to eradicate preventable and curable blindness, especially in the third world.

The video below shows Geoff giving sight in Ethiopia

Doc Hendley -  I heard about Doc while watching CNN's Heroes special on Thanksgiving night in 2009.  His non-profit, Wine to Water, has the goal of providing clean drinking water to those in the world that lack it.  The site is great because it enables you to get involved by hosting your own wine tasting fund-raising event to raise money for Wine to Water's efforts.  Drink wine, socialize, and raise money for a great cause; you can't beat that!
