I'm a fan of Mind Maps because they help organize complex information.  When it comes to living sustainability, it is sometimes difficult to understand how everything is connecting and getting the priorities in order.  I created a general energy mind map over a year ago, so I felt it was time to show a mind map that pertains to residential energy and water consumption and conservation.

You can use this as a guide for your own home, to print it out and show your family, or just to help you organize your own home sustainability priorities.  Here is a PDF link: Home Sustainability Mind Map or you can just click on the image above to see a larger version.  I actually created this using an app on the iPhone titled iThoughts.  It's a great app to have for when you have some time to kill and want to get some thoughts down.  I did this one while waiting for some sushi while I was out of town on business.

I'm sure I left out some areas or could have organized things differently.  What do you think or what would you add or change?

Chris, There is a free, open-source mindmapping tool called "Freemind." It might be worth posting Freemind versions of these mind maps and a link to download the application. That would give the readers the ability to modify the map to their needs. Powell
